This exhibition highlights the castle of Bonrepos Riquet where remains the shadow of the granddaughter of Pierre-Paul Riquet, creator of the Canal du Midi.

This place propitious to an imaginary, creative and collective gave birth to this original realization.

In an era where images take the place of words, Séverine Blanchet and Bernadette Bronoff use photographic media to give their point of view on the feminine. 

A feminine a little off-beat, far from an ideal.

THE WOMAN IS NOT AN OBJECT!

Unexpected objects have a considerable position in this walk within the castle of Bonrepos Riquet or Dorothée, great granddaughter of the famous Pierre-Paul Riquet lived.

Through this wandering Dorothy appeared in different forms. Woman, unusual objects, she incarnates, she guides us. Are you there?

In a timeless space, the places, the forms, the objects, reveal the materialization of the spirit of the granddaughter of Pierre-Paul Riquet returned to his Toulouse lands after having been decapitated.

Dorothée de Riquet de Bonrepos was convicted as an accomplice in the infamous ‘conspiracy of prisons’, conceived by Fouquier-Tinville in Paris during the Revolution. Dorothy will be guillotined at 50.

ARE WOMEN EASILY LOSING THEIR MINDS?

This work pays tribute to the amputated life, sacrifice, to Dorothy's damned soul. What woman would she have become?

Through the lens of Severine, Bernadette allows herself to a free interpretation of femininity: child woman, dark, teasing, joyous, fighting, hysterical, lost.

Dorothy is their medium, his femininity, his humor, his sadness, his anger. his demons, his conscience, in a word his breath is channeled to reflect in our time.

Dorothy's ghost haunts the castle. This place is her estate.

With this work we wish to make live and make visible from an artistic angle the castle of Bonrepos Riquet, today a tourist place of Haute-Garonne.
